Takapuna Library is proud to be hosting an evening with Jock Philips. In association with Friends of the Turnbull Library, Jock Philips will be presenting a fascinating talk on Māori and royal tours.
It will be about how Māori used the visits of royalty to emphasise their special relationship with Queen Victoria and her successors, and hoped to use that special relationship to alleviate some of their issues with the New Zealand Government.
Light refreshments served from 6pm, talk starts at 6.30pm. Gold coin donation will be appreciated.
