Wellington’s popular “High Society” Jazz group have been described as ‘smokin hot’!!

They’ve amped up the party atmosphere for many occasions and festivals around New Zealand since forming in 2018. This includes headlining at the Wairarapa Harvest Festival, Tauranga National Jazz Festival sell out at the Bling Jazz Lounge 2018, Wellington International Jazz Festival, Napier Art Deco Festival twice as resident band playing sold-out concerts in the historic Cabana Bar. And most recently performing seven shows in four days at Art Deco including a successful debut at the Soundshell in Napier.

Their love of old time classics mixed with new jazzified contemporary is a part of a movement happening the world over, with the U.S band, Post-Modern Jukebox a great international example of the popularity of the scene.

Their live cabaret style appearances always garner new fans and treat audiences to the most beloved jazz known the world over, from Rodgers and Hammerstein, Miles Davis, Jobim and Brazil 66, to Caro Emerald, Etta James, Electric Swing Orchestra, Amy Winehouse, Tony Bennett, Post-modern Jukebox, Charlie Pluth, Lady Gaga, and even Metallica....

But one of the most exciting announcements is that they recently launched their first album in Napier during the 2019 Art Deco Festival and at the oldest live music venue in NZ “The Cabana”.

The album self-titled “High Society’ is a selection of hand-picked standards and more that reflect the live show, and it will be available exclusively only at their performance venues.
