Join us on Sunday 14th April in welcoming the talented folk/roots band Himmerland from Denmark - this time touring with Scottish vocalist and viola player, Mairi Campbell who has been dubbed "one of the most fascinating women on the planet" by renowned music journalist Chris Nickson!
Fusing musical styles and genres from Denmark, Sweden and Ghana, Himmerland bring an exciting new sound to NZ shores. This sound reflects traditions close to the hearts of their musicians, while also displaying the growing dynamism and diversity of the danish folk and roots scene.
Himmerland were formed in 2010 and since then have toured the world extensively, with new guest musicians joining them over the years. This year's line features Eskil Romme (sax), Jens Ulvsand (bouzouki, vocals), Mairi Campbell (Vocal, Viola), Emil Ringtved (electric bass) and Ayi Solomon (percussion).
The concert begins at 8pm and tickets are $15 (at the door).
