On the back of a sell-out show at The Convent, Hiruhārama - Jerusalem, Chris Gallavin takes his utterly unique, engaging and entertaining poetry show to the Home of Compassion in Island Bay. Performing from a repertoire of 100s of poems both new and beloved, Chris presents poetry in a way you have likely never experienced before. Performing all poems by heart, this is a show that weaves the narrative of New Zealand as a people, a country and a mix of cultures, through carefully written and selected poems, stories, and music. Accompanied by Paul Turner of Ceol Manawatu with his selection of unique instruments, Chris and Paul promise a moving event, yet one that is light, fun and non-intimidating for those new to poetry (no chin scratching or academic discussion here!). Surrounded by a spectacular exhibition of photographs taken at their recent sold-out show in Jerusalem, this is a show not to be missed, and one, they promise, will be hard to forget.
