Selwyn Community Education is based at Selwyn College, Kohimarama, Auckland.

This course is part of our annual Writing Weekend 17 - 18 August 2019.

Tutor: Nicholas Reid.

Do you need to review books for your book club? Would you like to review books for a blog or a publication? Join experienced book reviewer Nicholas Reid and learn the techniques of a good critique.

During this one-day course, you will become aware of the needs of both your audience and publication and you will recognise the difference between bona fide review and puffery.

You will develop an awareness of different approaches to different media and no matter who you are reviewing for you will be able to critically review your reads.

This is a workshop designed for anyone who is part of a book club, anyone wanting to review books for publication, bloggers or just people wanting to be able to critique the books they are reading.

You are invited to attend our opening address at 9am on Saturday 17 August. Carole Beu from the Womens Bookshop will fire up the day with an early morning talk on her raves and faves. Have a cuppa, listen to Carol and meet others.

Our mission is to provide quality affordable and accessible lifelong learning opportunities for our community.
