Join us in Shed 6, Wellington Waterfront on Saturday 22nd June 2019 for a day of low cost and free events for Photography Enthusiasts and admirers!

Free events:
9.00am - 4pm: Visit our fantastic trade partners in the trade exhibition area, talk about your camera needs and get yourself some new equipment from our retail stands.

10am - 11am: Watch Craig Turner-Bullock work his magic with a live Pet Portrait shoot on the Wellington Waterfront. Craig will talk about the techniques he uses to create beautiful works of art from our four legged friends. Free to come and watch.

11am-12pm The Nga Toa Project: The Nga Toa Project is an ongoing programme led by amateur Kiwi oral-historian and film-maker Patrick Bronte to record, preserve, and share the stories of New Zealander’s experiences in war, conflict and the Armed Services.

As of February 2019, just under 300 interviews with individual Returned Servicemen and Women who were deployed on Operational Service on behalf of New Zealand. So far these interviews cover World War II, Korea, Malaya-Borneo, Vietnam and a small number of more contemporary Operational Deployments. Free to come along and watch.

12.30pm - 1.30pm: Watch live judging of the Wellington High School Photographic Competition - theme: Reflection; the ten finalist images will be judged live on stage inside Shed 6, with fantastic prizes from Olympus for the Major Winner, Runner up and Highest Aggregate School.

2pm - 2.30pm: See NZIPP President Ollie Dale's presentation on the hunt for the Lost Clipper. Free to attend.

3.30pm - 4pm: Learn more about Christmas Wish: While the outside world sings joyfully, there are many families just struggling to make it through the night, unsure of what the future holds. It was this understanding that led Photographic Digital Artist, Karen Alsop, to establish The Christmas Wish Project.

After a year of bringing joy to families across Australia through The heART Project, Karen knew she wanted to do something special for many families struggling through the Christmas Season. Presented by New Zealand Co-ordinator Ann Worthy Stephenson. Free to attend.

9am - 6pm (times approx): Visit the NZ Academy Galleries to see the Nikon Iris Awards Photo Exhibition and Live Judging. Free to watch!

7.30am - 5pm Join the Project Street 7:30 Photo Collaboration. This unique event begins with photographing the streets of Wellington, followed by edit and print, with your image up on exhibition inside Shed 6 for silent auction with all money raised going to Ronald McDonald House Wellington.

9.30am - 4pm (approx) Get your hands on your very own tin type portrait (bookings opening in June)
9.00am-4pm: Buy yourself a print from one of our NZIPP Accredited Professional Photographers - we’ll have a selection of images on display and available for purchase from our NZIPP Accredited Photographers.

9.00am-4pm: Visit the Splendid Photo stand for a $50 on site sensor clean. Pay at the Splendid stand.

10.30am - 11.30am Join American Adventure Sports Photographer Michael Clark for a Skate Park Photo Walk at Waitangi Park. You’ll spend an hour photographing skateboarders using a few basic camera techniques and a variety of Nikkor lenses.

Learn how to freeze motion, create motion blur images as well as capture a solid portrait all with just one or two lenses. Michael will show how he works with athletes on a photo shoot and what goes into creating compelling images.
