Im Still Standing - An Elton John Experience is a live music show gathering some of NZ’s greatest and most experienced musical talent to perform fresh perspectives on Elton John classics.. These include Bennie & the Jets, Your Song, Rocketman and excerpts from The Lion King. Lesser known songs include Indian Sunset & Burn Down the Mission.

The inaugural show is at Auckland’s newest music venue, Anthology Lounge on K Rd, on Friday 30th August & Saturday 31st August at 8:00PM. Anthology Lounge has gained a lot of attention since it's opening last year with acts such as Hollie Smith, Nathan Haines, International Jazz Artists through Creative Jazz Club Aotearoa, Music Theatre Unleashed, and many more.

The show headlines pianist & singer Josh Clark as Elton John. Described by Theatreview’s Nik Smythe as a “virtuoso keyboard player”, Josh prepares to perform this show fresh off the back of musically directing, performing or vocal coaching in six major NZ Music Theatre productions in the past 3 years. These include Billy Elliot (2016), Cats (2019) and most recently to great acclaim, The New Zealand Premiere of Once The Musical.

Special guest performer and co-director Laughton Kora (Kora, Jesus Christ Superstar) joins Josh both on and off the stage in developing the show. Coming from the iconic history of New Zealand’s 21st Century music wave alongside bands such as Fat Freddy’s Drop, Shapeshifter & Katchafire, Laughton is one of New Zealand’s great artists as a performer, producer & musical director.

Harbouring Josh & Laughton’s theatrical connections, the show in two parts…

Part 1 - The Cabaret
Part 2 - The Party

The band comprises some of NZ’s most experienced and talented musicians, including Drummer Jono Sawyer (Glastonbury, Montreux Jazz Festival, Tahuna Breaks, James Morrison) Bassist Richie Pickard (Josh Groban, Elaine Paige, Dave Dobbyn, Nadia Reid), Guitarist Andy Smith (Batacuda Sound Machine, Nathan Haines, Sola Rosa), Multi-Instrumentalist & Producer Sam Jones (Tiki Taane, Laughton Kora, Barnaby Weir, Bailey Wiley) & singer/dancer Jane Strickland (Pleasuredome, Cats 2019 NZ Tour, Momentum Productions).

This show aims to bring a unique and fresh perspective on one of the greatest songwriters of our time.

Tickets now available via iTicket at $35 each.
