Session Two: Industry 4.0 & Sustainability/Traceablity & Waste Minimisation.
You are invited to be part of an exciting series of seminars focused on the latest tools and trends in manufacturing commonly known as Industry 4.0.
This wave of change is characterised by the introduction of digital technologies to the manufacturing environment with the goal of improving efficiency, reducing product development time, helping with product stewardship and most importantly connecting to clients and consumers.
The unique opportunity for Wellington is that we have strengths in both manufacturing and the digital technologies and this series will put the leaders of both sectors in the same room to identify and act on the opportunities that exist. In addition to the Industry 4.0 insights, it is also an opportunity to network with your peers in the manufacturing sector.
Following on from Session One which provided an overview of Industry 4.0, this session will focus on real NZ examples of companies using digital technologies to increase their sustainability, build traceability into their products and minimise waste.
Speakers for this session are:
Robbie van Dam is Director and Co-Founder of Goodnature. He will present on how the use of technologies such as 3-D printing is allowing a low-waste methodology to meet variable customer needs.
James Griffin, leads SBN’s Circular Economy Accelerator. He will discuss how disruptive technologies like the blockchain might enable a circular economy.
Samantha Jones, CEO of Little Yellow Bird, a uniform company and founder of Origins, will be talking about their supply chain transparency platform, which uses NEM blockchain to authenticate products from origins through to point of sale.
Jos Kunnen, CEO of Times-7, will be describing how RAIN RFID is being used to support Industry 4.0 initiatives.
To ensure the learning achieves impact in your business we welcome up to 3 attendees per company.
The event will be followed by networking and refreshments.
