Inside.Out turns seven this month! More than eighty nights so far of compelling poetry & prose and the best local music, thanks to you our readers and audience,and to our supporters Cafe One2one and Auckland Authors. Kia ora koutou katoa.

Bring your writing—poetry, flash fiction, short story & novel excerpts, performance poetry etc—to read or present at the open mic (up to 6 mins max) , or come as audience to hear what's brand new.To read, just sign up on the open mic page as you arrive. Expect more random chocolate bars and books prizes to celebrate our anniversary!

Welcome to our musician guest Gloria Florence. Gloria is an Auckland based singer songwriter who performs regularly at Cafe 121 and other venues. She plays a blend of alternative country and folk music including self-penned songs, drawing from her childhood growing up in the middle of nowhere and her teenage years playing punk rock. Her inspirations vary from Billie Holiday to Townes Van Zandt to The Stranglers. Playing an acoustic set she takes you to the heart of a young woman, knocked down but always getting right back up to write a song about it.

Five Word Challenge: Employ the five words—Seven, Shelter, Face, Waewae (feet), Business—in a short piece of writing < 50 words all up and place in the Red Box of Mystery for randomly-awarded book prizes & chocolate bars. Plus, scoop up fliers on lit events & competitions.
