CasitaBonita are very excited to announce the very first 2-week Intensive Tiny House Design/ Build, right here in Nelson! Tiny house legends Dee Williams and Lizabeth Moniz, will be joining us in the Southern Hemisphere for this hands-on workshop, so that you can learn everything you might need to know about starting your own tiny living journey.
The workshop will begin with a welcome pizza night and discussion. Days will be spent in the workshop on a real life tiny build project, learning construction skills and techniques, and becoming comfortable using tools and reading plans.
Evenings will be spent in the design studio discussing all aspects of tiny living and design, creating your own small space design, learning basic drafting skills, making models, and other fun and informative design exercises. We’ll also take several excursions to other tiny builds in the area, and finish up with a day of students own presentations and farewell get together.
The Course fee will include all workshop and studio activities, excursions, and a delicious lunch provided by Hardy St Eatery on all of the build days. The Material fee includes a tool belt, and all the basic tools and safety equipment you’ll need for the workshop, plus the drawing and design material required for evening studios.
Accommodation and travel will need to be arranged by students, and it is highly recommended that students find accommodation in Nelson Central, as this is an intensive course, and travel time before, between, and after classes will most certainly cut into meal times, fun times, and swimming time! Hiring a bike for the duration of the course is a really good idea.
