International Women's Day is on 08 Mar 19, we're celebrating with a breakfast on Saturday 09 March.
This year we're trying something different and screening the main IWD breakfast held in Wellington. Come and be inspired by keynote speakers the Rt Hon Jacinda Ardern Prime Minister of New Zealand, the Hon Julie Anne Genter Minister for Women and leading employment rights lawyer and Wellingtonian of the year Steph Dyhrberg.
Singing trio LeArt from Porirua will be performing.
The theme for IWD 2019 is #WeToo, inspired by the Prime Minister of NZ, Jacinda Ardern's speech at the UN calling for gender equality.
"Me Too must become We Too - We are all in this together."
"It seems surprising that in this modern age we have to recommit ourselves to gender equality, but we do. And I for one will never celebrate the gains we have made for women domestically, while internationally other women and girls experience a lack of the most basic of opportunity and dignity."
