This is an introductory workshop to 5Rhythms, a dynamic movement practice, created by Gabrielle Roth and practiced around the world as a vehicle to enhance health and vitality and bring about real and lasting changes. It is an embodiment practice that ignites creativity, connection, and community. It is a simple process that anyone can do, yet facilitates deep and unending explorations, moving the dancer beyond self-imposed limitations and isolation into new depths of creativity and connection.
The 5Rhythms, Flowing Staccato Chaos Lyrical Stillness, danced in sequence form an energy Wave, through which we connect to whatever’s present in the body, find expression for it, release it and integrate it. We arrive at our still point by moving whatever is in our way. Each rhythm is interpreted by individual dancers in a uniquely personal way, opening them to a new sense of freedom and possibility that is both surprising and healing, exhilarating as well as deeply restorative. It is, in essence, exercise for the right brain. 5Rhythms gives us a Map to explore and cultivate the art of living.
