Join us at Thistle Hall, Monday evenings 6.00pm - 7.00pm, 24th June - 5 August
Learn memorable tips for pronunciation and increase your confidence to use basic greetings, phrases and place names.
Joan’s fresh and flexible teaching style creates a relaxed and fun learning environment, and her love of the language builds a heart-felt connection with te reo over this 7 week course.
Everyone is welcome.
Course cost: $50 (including booking fee)
Places are limited and we plan to offer more classes in the future so please only enrol if you can make at least 6 of the 7 weeks.
Monday evenings from 6.00pm – 7.00pm
24 June: Pronunciation - with memorable tips to pronounce place names, people’s names and basic phrases correctly.
1 July: An invitation to learners to attend the opening of Te Whironui at Thistle Hall Community Gallery.
8 July: Greetings and farewells –useful in everyday and formal Māori settings.
15 July: Acknowledgements and thanks – to visitors, and opening and closing events or meetings.
22 July: Mihimihi - making personal connections and learning each other’s ancestral foundations.
29 July: Everyday idioms and phrases – increasing comfort, and support within daily conversations.
5 August: Business te reo - written correspondence appropriate for letters and emails
