Ceol Aneas is NZ's premiere Irish Traditional Music Festival, held annually in Nelson in June, with top-class performers from Ireland & worldwide.
Come experience traditional Irish music in Auckland, through an intimate concert by Angela Usher. She will delight you with jigs and reels and get your toes tapping! There might even be some impromptu dancing.
Angela released her debut solo banjo album ‘The Gort Mile.’ The album’s title is a reference to her origins; Angela’s Grandfather, John-Joe Lally, came from Peterswell and won the Gort Mile race in the early 1920’s. Angela spent her summers in Peterswell, frequently visiting the family home of celebrated box player Joe Cooley, playing tunes with Joe’s brother, Jack.
“Angela is a uniquely soulful banjo player – technical mastery meets impeccable musical taste, with great enduring original tunes” - Mike McGoldrick
The concert venue is at the Auckland Irish Society. It's family friendly, where attendees from all ages are welcome.
