As part of celebrating Tongan language week, Four Shells will hold an event to commemorate! Join us in a visual presentation by award-winning photographer Todd Henry titled ‘Kava Tonga’. Todd Henry will discuss his own kava journey while showcasing his archives of photographs featuring Tongan kava culture over the past ten years.
Todd will share his insight into his documentary photography techniques and the ways in which Tongan kava culture has influenced his own relationship with kava. Kava is a ceremonial drink unique to the Pacific Islands. It has deep cultural significance and social benefits. The act of sharing kava has been practised for thousands of years and has been used to facilitate and generate meaningful discussions on a range of important topics. With the spirit of kava and community in mind please join us at Four Shells for an evening of relaxed socialisation over high-quality kava.
