Renowned New Zealand jazz pianist/vocalist Julie Mason returns to the Auckland Jazz & Blues Club with her new "Gap Year" project. In 2017, she and her husband, legendary Kiwi jazz pianist Phil Broadhurst, spent a year in Europe. Using Paris as their home base, they travelled extensively throughout Europe, encountering many magical moments on their musical and culinary journey.
Julie has recently evolved into a singer/songwriter, with all material down from her Gap Year abroad.
She is joined in concert by several of NZ's leading jazz musicians: Oli Holland (bass), Frank Gibson (drums), and special guests Phil Broadhurst (piano), Roger Manins (tenor sax), Linn Lorkin and Maria O'Flaherty (backing vocals).
This promises to be a lively, often humorous concert of fresh Kiwi jazz along with a few standards for good measure.
