Kaituna Ridges Ramble

Now in our 7th year as a fundraiser for our fantastic rural Pelorus Community Preschool, we have decided to run this event as a competition, and have also reintroduced a family fun event with a country twist. 12kM Walk / Bike / Run
This is a race with prizes for 1st / 2nd / 3rd Male and Female competitors 14yrs & Over.

The number of prizes awarded is dependent on competitor numbers (i.e. 10 Competitors or less 1st Prize only / 20 Competitors or less 1st and 2nd Prizes only / 20 Competitors or more 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prizes awarded).

To receive your prize or spot prize you have to be present in person at the Prize Giving Presentation.

The Kaituna Ridges Ramble Walk/Bike/Run is a 12km loop course. The event will begin at the wool-shed on Kaituna Ridges Farm. The route is a steady uphill climb, mainly a on 4WD track, to the first saddle with a decent drop before returning to the ridge-line and winding through beautiful beech forest. Another saddle is mastered before heading into thicker native bush, following an old gold miners trail to come out onto a ridge to begin the final decent.

Kaituna Ridges Ramble is a moderately challenging and rewarding trek which requires medium level of fitness for walking and running.The mountain bike is in areas technically challenging and required a fairly high level of fitness to master the uphill sections. Depending on your ability Walkers are expected to take between 3 to 4 hours, for Runners 2 to 3 hours, and for Bikers approximately 3 hours.

Registration from 7:30am to 8:30 for participants 14yrs & Over.
Race for all competitors to start at 8:45am

Entry Fee for Walk / Bike / Run
$20 / Adult, $10 / Child, $50 / Family (2 Adults / 2 Children)
(It is not recommended for children 13yrs and under)
Cash only, Sorry NO Eftpos will be available

Prize giving presentation to commence at 1pm or until last participant returns.

Family Fun Obstacle Course
Bring along the family and have a blast racing around the farm, jumping over and under objects, a sack race and fish out your prize from the creek. Bring a change of clothes you might get wet!

This event is designed to be inclusive and fun for you and your children, with a focus on participation.
Entry fee $10 per Family up to Four Members. Cash only, Sorry, no Eftpos will be available.

Family Entertainment
Pony Rides, Face Painting, and a Petting Zoo is available, bring along your gold coins and be entertained. You might want to pay it forward and buy a native tree to be planted in the area too.

Stay and Enjoy
Once you have finished unwind, relish in your achievement and enjoy the beautiful setting that Kaituna Ridges Farm has to offer. Food Stall, Coffee Cart, Marlborough Sounds Massage, Plant a Tree, Acoustic Music, Family Entertainment - something for everyone! Remember cash only, sorry no Eftpos will be available.
