Teach your dog new tricks - like how to avoid kiwi on your next adventure in the bush.
The kiwi aversion training programme teaches dogs to avoid kiwi when they are out in the bush. It is an important tool in teaching dogs that kiwi are something they should stay away from. Kiwi/bird aversion training helps reduce the number of kiwi and other native ground nesting birds being killed or disturbed by dogs. Kiwi avoidance training is a tool to help reduce the threat dogs pose to kiwi. It is not a silver bullet though and does not make a dog “kiwi proof”.
Hunters and recreational users are encouraged to have their dogs undergo aversion training, and it is a requirement in some regions. It is recommended that dogs complete the training each year.
Allow 15 minutes per dog. $25 per dog. Pre Registration is essential.
