Knit In Public Day by Make Give Live

Come along and spread the joy of knitting far and wide. Knit In Public Day is a world wide event, knitters around the globe gather together in public to show the community how amazing the craft is. Bring your knitting to Britomart and sit a knit with us for a while, stay for half an hour, or stay for the whole session, we really don't mind. We aim to keep the art alive, pass it on to the next generation and promote the wonderful material of wool to the world.

Make Give Live is Social Enterprise, we have 10 knitting groups around the country (and growing fast!). We bring communities of knitters together to make hats and other accessories that we sell and for every item sold we donate one to someone in need in NZ.

We plan to hand out hats and accessories to people that really need them in our city on the day, so if you have any handmade items lurking at the bottom of your cupboard, please bring them along and we'll make sure they keep the head and heart of someone in real need warm. Can't wait to get knitting!
