We have arranged a very special music night on Wednesday 19th June. Chihiro Morita who is a Koto player offered to play Koto (traditional Japanese musical instrument) at Nobanno.

Chihiro and her teacher - Satoko Hayashi (also well respectable in Japan) are coming all the way from Japan to NZ to perform especially for Nobanno’s guests. They will only be here in NZ for few days and will play their musical instrument at Nobanno on Wednesday 19th June. This will be a life time opportunity to see them playing Koto instrument in NZ. So, please come on Wednesday 19th June and have a dinner while listening the beautiful live Koto music.

What is Koto instrument? Please see some information as follow:
The koto is a Japanese stringed musical instrument and it is the national instrument of Japan. Koto usually has 13 strings that are usually strung over 13 movable bridges along the width of the instrument.

There is also a 17-string variant. Players can adjust the string pitches by moving the white bridges before playing. The instrument koto was considered as a romantic one and regarded as an upper class musical instrument which usually plays in court theatre in Japan.

So, we would like to invite you to come along that night and enjoy this unique music while enjoying Nobanno's mouth watering dishes. Your attendance will certainly make their NZ trip satisfied and fulfilled.

To make this more welcoming we also created a special dinner offer – 20% off (up to $25) on your food bill (T&Cs apply). We also like to request you to reserve a table and that will help us to be ready for the event.
