Come and join us for a special World Breastfeeding Week get together at the Croque-o-dile Cafe at the Botanic Gardens.

Please Register for this free informal event so we can gauge numbers to let the venue know.

“The #WBW2019 slogan “Empower Parents, Enable Breastfeeding” was chosen to be inclusive of all types of parents in today’s world. Focusing on supporting both parents to be empowered is vital in order to realise their breastfeeding goals.

Empowerment is a process that requires evidence-based unbiased information and support to create the enabling environment where mothers can breastfeed optimally. Breastfeeding is in the mother’s domain and when fathers, partners, families, workplaces, and communities support her, breastfeeding improves.

We can all support this process, as breastfeeding is a team effort. To enable breastfeeding we all need to protect, promote and support it.”

-World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA)

The Big Latch On is on Friday 2nd August this year and I know many will be unable to make it due to work commitments or other activities. We would love to see you and your pēpi and whanau there!
Make sure you let us know if you are coming by clicking “Going” so we can gauge numbers to the let cafe know.

We will be putting together a WBW Raffle to raise funds for LLL Dunedin West group to keep our group going with things like new books for the Group library, tea and coffee at meetings, and continuing professional development support for our volunteer Leaders. We will draw the raffle at afternoon tea, so watch out on our page and group for more info!
