INFO
Trio Dumky. After a successful tour in Europe, violinist Marko Pop Ristov and pianist Flavio Villani join forces with Auckland cellist Callum Hall to bring to NZ audiences a great music journey from the delicate sounds of Schubert Trio to the striking sonorities of 1944 Shostakovich Piano Trio n.2.

Tres Cordes Trio. Described as “high spirited” and “fun overflowing,” and “with splendid co-ordination and attack,” Tres Cordes brings music to life with freshness, warmth and beauty. Recent highlights include performances at the International Deia Festival in Mallorca, Spain, performing at the opening of the Chinese Spring Festival and recording the soundtrack for The Art of Recovery for the New Zealand International Film Festival.

Flavio Villani. After achieving his Masters in Piano Performance with first class honours under Stephen De Pledge at the University of Auckland, Flavio has continued to perform many recitals as a soloist as well as in different chamber formations extensively in New Zealand and overseas. He performed Rachmaninoff Concerto n.2 with the Orchestra Filarmonica of Calabria in Italy, featured in the documentary "Crossing Rachmaninoff" and with the Orchestra of CalArts in Los Angeles and the New Plymouth Orchestra. He also performed with the Taranaki Orchestra, Hawke's Bay Orchestra and Auckland Symphony Orchestra. Flavio returns to NZ from a recent Italian tour as part of the Orion Trio, and is also a founding member of the Villani Piano Quartet which toured for Chamber Music NZ in 2016. He is currently conducting a doctoral research on the historical practice of improvisation both in pedagogical and performative aspects in classical music.
