Learn the Ancient Art of Harakeke Weaving

Come along and learn the ancient art of harakeke weaving, and help us make special gifts from the people of Timaru for our visiting cruise ship passengers this summer!

We're joining the stories of our ancient Maori people of Aotearoa and Timaru's world famous Trevor Griffiths Rose Garden to make a single harakeke rose to give to passengers arriving on our cruise ships. It'll be a very special memento of their visit.

Gather up your kids and whanau - learn to weave the harakeke roses, keep some for yourself and make some for us to give to the cruise visitors.
