Legal Tender With the Heatheringtons

The “Legal Tender Band’ is based around the duo of Ian and Moira Campbell who have been performing an eclectic mix of Country/rock/folk covers and originals around New Zealand for more years than they care to remember.

They frequently add other musicians to the line-up when a bigger band is appropriate and have collaborated with many kiwi musicians including various members of the Hamilton County Bluegrass Band, Bullfrog Rata, The Andrew London trio, Wayne Mason, and many others .They feature regularly at various country/folk festivals and concerts around New Zealand.

With their blend of alt/country/folk covers and their own down-home original songs they have entertained audiences from the Bay of Islands to the Deep South. Sensitive arrangements of songs by various Americana artists including Guy Clarke, Hank Williams, Holly Williams, Gillian Welsh and Lorri Mckenna are rendered with earthy integrity and powerful vocal harmonies.

They have visited Hokitika annually for the past three years and performed at the Old Lodge Theatre with Des along on pedal steel and gat. On this trip to the coast they are hooking up with local band “The Hetheringtons”, Des, Ricki and Dean and going to perform at The Woodstock Hotel.
