Join us on this 90-minute walk tour of inner city Wellington. Most of the walk is on the flat using accessible public footpaths. Learn about early female impersonators, the Salvation Army and homosexual law reform, community icons giving back, social meeting places, infamous local hate crimes and a landmark church service on homosexuality.
On this tour date we will also mark the 20th anniversary of Jeff Whittington's death.
The walk tour starts at Pukeahu Park (meet at the bottom of the steps to the war memorial), Tory Street. It ends at St Peter’s church, Willis Street.
This tour is absolutely free – no need to book, just turn up. But please check our website on the day for weather related cancellations.
