Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny on the plains of Africa. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub's arrival. Scar, Mufasa's brother - and former heir to the throne - has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is soon ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba's exile. Now, with help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba must figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his.
Directed and produced by Jon Favreau, with a screenplay written by Jeff Nathanson, and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. It is a photorealistic computer-animated remake of the traditionally animated 1994 film of the same name. The film stars the voices of Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner, John Kani, John Oliver, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, and James Earl Jones reprising his original role as Mufasa.
Join the New Zealand Red Cross at this iconic movie on Monday 22 July, at Focal Point cinema, Hastings. Tickets are $22.50 and include a ticket to the movie and either a beverage or small popcorn. Money raised will help New Zealand Red Cross do good work in communities around the world and across New Zealand, including Hawke’s Bay.
Every ticket purchased will also enter you in the draw to win our great raffle prize, plus there will be more tickets available on the night.
