LWMCU Tikipunga Kindergarten Clean Up

Love Whangarei Monthly Clean Up event run by For Our Real Clean Environment removing waste from the environment.

"Tikipunga Kindergarten are excited to become local guardians of a small block of bush behind the Tikipunga Library. Accessing the natural world is widely recognized as critical for young children to make genuine connections and develop an ethos of our environment. We have to get into the bush to really learn about it.

A regular cycle of weekly visits will see a group of older children engaging in Kaitiakitanga as they repair, maintain and enjoy this beautiful spot in the heart of Tikipunga. We hope you can spare us some of your time on Sunday 20th of October to help us in preparing this special place for our Tamariki - whether they come to our Kindergarten or not - to love and enjoy."

When the kaiako from Tikipunga Kindergarten approached us to help them clean up this piece of bush for the tamariki to explore we said of course!

We will meet up at the Paramount Plaza, between Countdown and the GAS station. From there we will spread out through the bush making sure there is no broken glass etc to be found.

As usual we will provide: gloves, buckets, lollies, water, sanitizer, sunblock, giveaways and motivation.

You should bring: sturdy shoes and a great attitude.
