The theme for Divergence 2019 is Mad Wisdom, but what is Mad Wisdom? At our Mad Wisdom Cafe we are going to explore what it is that we have learnt from leading lives that have been touched by madness or are lived through a mad, divergent or neurodivergent lens.

Using the World Cafe model of dialogue we will be connecting with one another as we consider together what are the hard fought understandings, the unique sights, and rich wisdom and knowledge that we have gained through our experiences.

We hope to not only deepen our Mad, Divergent and Neurodivergent community understandings’, but to collect these and collate them into a format that we can share with those in the broader community.

If you have experienced mental distress and or identify as Mad, Divergent, or Neurodivergent we invite you to join the conversation. The event is free but spaces are limited, so we ask people to register via the Divergence website.

If you are concerned about having conversations in large groups we want to assure you that we are working to make the format as accessible for a variety of environmental processing needs. If you have tools that assist in making your environment more tolerable we encourage you to bring them. Additionally World Cafe conversations take place in small groups of four, and include options for people who are quiet contributors. AND we are setting up a chill zone for if “the overwhelm” hits. Basically, your wisdom is valuable, please come share it with us.

If you have any questions feel free to message us either via facebook or email thrivingmadly@gmail.com. When your registration is completed we will send out a Mad Wisdom Cafe information pack in preparation for the day.
