Make Your Own Pins

Come to this short pin-making course and make cute, personalised, clay pins perfect for your backpack, denim jackets and totes (week 1 for creating, week 2 for painting and week 3 for assembling). No experience needed. Firing and material costs included.

About the tutor: Helen is an Auckland-based creative, writer and zine-maker. She is currently completing a Masters of Communication Studies at Auckland University of Technology, and has previously worked in media, publishing and the arts. She is a self-taught artist and enjoys illustrating, collaging, pottery and experimenting with new forms of digital art. For the past two years, Helen has run her own zine collective which encourages local migrant communities to engage in critical conversations through independent-publishing, as well as arts and craft. She has facilitated workshops in partnership with a number of organisations including Auckland Libraries, Shakti, Mangere Arts Centre - Nga Tohu o Uenuku, and Massey University. Helen’s works have also been displayed in various countries including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Cambodia, Australia and the US.
