The Whāingaroa Environment Centre is an information, resource and action hub, supporting environmental education and sustainability. The Centre's project 'Marine Matters' is all about connecting the Raglan community with their marine environment and keeping the harbour's residents up to date with coastal issues.

Seaweek is New Zealand's annual national week to celebrate our coastlines and renew connections with the sea. What better way to do this than to come together as a community to prevent beach debris ending up in the ocean?

The Marine Matters project, supported by Xtreme Zero Waste and Karioi Maunga ki te Moana, brings you this Seaweek beach clean. We will scour both the Kopua Domain side of the harbour and the town side so at least half our awesome volunteers will need gum boots. We will round off the afternoon with a BBQ.
