The Whāingaroa Environment Centre is an information, resource and action hub, supporting environmental education and sustainability.

The Centre's 'Marine Matters' project is all about connecting the community with their marine ecosystem and keeping them up to date with coastal issues. 'Muddy Waters' is the first in a series of Marine Matters science nights that will welcome expert speakers to present and take your questions on a range of marine topics.

Have you ever wondered what impact extreme weather events and changing land use may have on the marine habitat within our estuarine or harbour systems?

During Seaweek 2019 we welcome Prof. Karin Bryan and Prof. Conrad Pilditch from University of Waikato to talk about the impact land derived sediment can have on estuarine and harbour systems, and find out what research is happening in our own harbour.

Turn up at Orca Bar for 6.30pm to grab some nibbles and get your dose of marine science.
