Join Historian Michael Fowler for a talk on the history of the Marine Parade from 1928 to 1938.
This decade heralded the development of what has been called Napier’s playground.
Michael’s talk will look at the conflicts that arose during the post-quake era, with many not wanting any buildings at all on the reclaimed foreshore. You'll also hear how the Soundshell, Veronica Bay, Tom Parker Fountain and Napier Arch all came into existence, and learn some little-known facts.
