'Marine Snow', like all the best stories, is about love. And fleas. And jellyfish.

A long time ago, Leon was in love. He doesn’t remember much about the girl, but he knows she was real, and she had a seashell for a name. Since he lost her, he has spent much of his time sucking the blood of businessmen and listening to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, but her shape still lives in his head like a bronze statue.

Conscience likes to tell stories. Some of the best are saved for Don, the property mogul on whose head she lives. It’s an unusual relationship, admittedly, but she enjoys having someone who actually listens to her.

Don is a visionary. When most men were looking to the sky he went down, and it has paid off with what may be the biggest professionally-dug hole ever. A hole that big has to fill something, right?

No one listens to Penny, not really, not even the people who did the poetry nod of appreciation for her at slam night. She hears things no one else can though, like the man with a dead seagull for a head who sometimes talks to her when she’s alone.

She listens to Sam too, but he’s too wrapped up in his tropical fish to notice. It’s not entirely normal for a teenage boy to spend all his time and money working towards a presentation at a marine biology symposium, but it’s not every day you find the loneliest creature on the entire planet.

Sonya doesn’t have time to be lonely, she’s too busy dreaming big dreams and thinking about concrete. There’s something beautiful about the idea that the world can be so uniform, so smooth.

Written by Finnius Teppett Directed by Mac Veitch.
Proudly presented by Little Scorpion Productions, the company that brought you Hamlet and The Skriker, Marine Snow is a visually stunning piece of theatre with our trademark deep undercurrents and emotional punch. Funny, bizarre and moving, this promises to be something truly special.

There will be a cast and crew Q & A after the show on the 25th
