Marlborough Dragon Boat Club Open Day

Marlborough Dragons are bringing their boat into town and you are invited to come and have a go.

We will be based on the riverbank in front of Saveur Café.

Dragon boating combines teamwork, technique, timing and power in a competitive, yet highly social, environment. It's a great sport to keep fit, improve strength and meet people.

We have a competitive team that races in the South Island and National Competitions but also welcome people who just want to paddle for fun, fitness and friendship, or just want to try something new.

Full instruction will be given on the river bank before an easy paddle on the Taylor & Ōpaoa River under the control of our fully qualified Sweep and in the company of some of our experienced paddlers. We will be making several trips on the river.

Everyone is welcome but be warned... this sport is addictive.

All equipment is supplied, just wear something sporty.

To comply with national regulations the minimum age for paddlers is 12 yrs.
