This is a DOC Summer Programme activity which involves visiting Maud Island Scientific Reserve and the chance to view some rare and critically endangered species including the Giant Weta, The Maud Island frog, the Cook Strait click beetle, the Giant snail, etc.
Visit the Waimaru Gannet colony, King shag's, and hear about the Mussel farm industry enroute. While on the island you can partake with a guided short walk to visit the WW2 Gun Emplacement.
