Bring the kids along to meet award-winning author Gillian Candler, and get your Christmas shopping done at the same time with 15% off in the Wellington Museum store!

To help us celebrate Museum Store Sunday 2019, Gillian will be reading from Whose Beak is This? and Whose Home is This? two titles in a fun interactive series about New Zealand wildlife. They’ll have fun guessing ‘whose beak?’ and ‘whose home?’ and learn some interesting facts along the way, as well as getting a free ‘whose home’ colouring sheet.

Gillian will also be signing books at the Wellington Museum store, where attendees have access to special offers including 15% off everything for one day only.

Gillian Candler is the award-winning author of 11 books for children about New Zealand nature, published by Potton & Burton. Her most recent books include: “Whose Home is This?” illustrated by Fraser Williamson, which was a finalist in the 2019 New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults and “New Zealand Nature Heroes” published in November this year.

When she’s not writing books, she’s out and about exploring nature and volunteering on conservation projects or visiting schools and sharing her passion for New Zealand’s wildlife with children.

About “Whose Home is This?” and others in this series:
“For me, these books have it all. They’re beautiful, interactive, thoughtfully written, include respectful use of te reo Māori, and increase children’s scientific skills and knowledge. Get hold of all three.” - Thalia Kehoe Rowden, The Sapling 2018.
