Two public meetings hosted by Grey Power Rotorua

Grey Power Rotorua is a not-for-profit incorporated society affiliated with the Federation of Grey Power Associations. Our focus is to advocate and lobby governments, political parties and candidates, local bodies and community organisations as well as businesses, on matters of significance to the seniors of Aotearoa / New Zealand, and in particular, those resident in Rotorua.

Each local body election year, Grey Power Rotorua hosts a public meeting, so that both Association members and the general public can inform themselves about the candidates, both councillor and mayor, and so have a firmer foundation on which to decide whether to vote for particular candidates, and often, why not!

This election round offers residents a feast of new faces and therefore fresh opinions, making this is an opportunity to get nose-to-nose with them and ask them your questions one-on-one, after the formal presentations.

We can be sure that there will be a wide range of opinions expressed, and reasons for standing for election. we can be sure too that we will not agree with all of them, may be none of them. Giving them a fair and courteous hearing is totally to our advantage: the immediate future of the residents of Rotorua is at stake, and your attendance is both welcome and strongly encouraged!

Your are welcome to come to one or both sessions: Thursday 19 September
2-4pm chaired by Gerald Hanson
7-9pm chaired by Geoffrey Shekell

Candidates will be invited to attend both sessions and answer the following two questions :
- What is your philosophy and motivation for standing for Council?
- What issues relating to seniors will you pursue ?

Meeting format:
- 3 minutes allocated per speaker
- No questions from the floor
- Cuppa and biscuit supplied
- Opportunity to meet the candidates individually

Gold coin donation welcomed.
