Mercury Rising – Stargazing Party

Mercury’s transit will already be in progress as the sun rises over Mercury Bay on 12 November, so we’re going to stay up all night to celebrate!

Come to Marine Parade at Cook’s Beach for our Star-Gazing party where we’ll have telescopes and the Otago Museum science communicators to help you observe and photograph amazing stars, constellations, and deep space objects visible over New Zealand.

Then, once the sun comes up, we’ll have 10 solar telescopes available which will allow you to safely view Mercury transiting the sun! Join us for some fun and astronomy!
