Always wanted to put those paper memories in a single creative unit or make an attractive wall decoration out of colourful paper scraps? Come and learn the history and techniques of collage making - and find out what Merz means!
By discovering the art of collaging over the last 100 years and the artists involved, you’ll be able to apply ideas of your own to create collages around categories such as mementos of importance, colour, texture and themes.
By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
- See artistic potential in every day pieces of paper and other two and three dimensional objects.
- Create pieces of art that will be relevant to you and others associated with you
- Develop an understanding of proportion and colour and an ability to design original compositions
- Feel a sense of accomplishment in making something out of ‘nothing’
Bring craft glue, paper scissors, pencil, ruler, craft knife, roller, strong backing card of your choice and items for collaging to the first session – other materials can be gathered as the course progresses.
