Escape the winter chill and join us for an evening in the Shire… With a warming mulled wine in hand, relax by the roaring fire inside The Green Dragon™ Inn before being moved up to the Party Marquee to enjoy a fully themed mid-winter buffet dinner fit for a Hobbit.
Hobbiton Movie Set will be holding this special four and a half hour mid-winter feast on Saturday 20th July 2019.
Hobbiton is an experience to tantalise the senses, as guests find themselves engulfed in the sights, smells, sounds and tastes of the Shire, at the home of the Hobbits, as featured in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit Trilogies.
Your guide will escort you through the twelve-acre site recounting fascinating details of how the movie set was created. Throughout the movie set you will see 44 complete Hobbit Holes, the thatched Millhouse, double arch stone bridge and of course the famous Green Dragon Inn.
With the moon hanging low over the Shire, escape the cool winter air by arriving in to the Green Dragon Inn, with ample time to relax in front of the open fires. The Green Dragon Inn was the meeting place for all residents of Hobbiton, who would gather in the warm surroundings of the bar to chatter about the day’s events.
Indulge in a few beverages from our Hobbit Southfarthing range, which encompasses two traditional ales, an apple cider and non-alcoholic ginger beer, all handcrafted and exclusive to Hobbiton Movie Set. For this one-off winter celebration there will be specially brewed mulled wine served from our piping hot caldrons.
Hearty Hobbit sized canapes will be served while you explore the masterfully re-created Inn and listen to the live themed musical entertainer roaming throughout the venue. After approximately 45 minutes you will be escorted up to the Party Marquee for a buffet dinner which will be full of traditional Hobbit fare and as is the tradition in the Shire, second helpings are encouraged.
The Party Marquee is a fully themed, spacious location where the painted canvas exterior, vibrant bunting and colourful lanterns allow you to be immersed in the festive magic of the movies.
To conclude this premium Hobbiton Movie Set experience, after dinner you will re-join your guide and make your way back through the wandering paths of Hobbiton. The trails will be illuminated by path lighting and you will share authentic handheld lanterns to light the way. This stunning journey under moonlight will travel through the village breathtakingly lit up with Hobbit Hole chimney’s smoking and lanterns glowing against the darkness.
