*** SOLD OUT ****

A one night only event starting at 5.45pm, where the expertise of our Japanese teppanyaki chefs will battle dish for dish against our resident Oceano chefs at the Rutherford Hotel Nelson - A Heritage Hotel.

For every Japanese sushi and teppanyaki dish created and served, we will also create and serve a European style dish, which will be also created as much as possible on the teppan grill.

In this food battle of very different food and culture styles, we will see the chefs cook live, to fill the restaurant with enthusiasm and entertainment, and show how the teppan grill technique can be so flexible.

After the guests arrive and have an aperitif, we will offer something similar to the following to share on the tables: (dinner includes a welcome drink).

Act I
Sushi platters & Scandinavian smorrebrod

Act II
Miso Soup & Bortsch Polonaise

Act III
Fried Rice & Green Lip Paella

Act IV
Stir fry Vegetables & Caponata

Act V
Teppan Fish & Breaded Fish

Act VI
Teppan Meat & Greek Kofta Kebabs

Act VII
Green Tea Dessert & Bombe Alaska

Every guest receives a score sheet where they can judge each dish during the evening and eventually decide on the winning team.

Will it be Team Japan or Team Rest of the World?

Book now, limited seats available. We look forward to welcoming you.

Seating arrangements will be similar to that of our teppanyaki table, where different groups will sit together at one table.
There will be a total of 3 - 4 tables seating up to 20 guests per table. Please allow approximately 3 hours to enjoy this culinary fair.
