Selwyn Community Education is based at Selwyn College, Kohimarama, Auckland.
This course runs on Sunday 18 August 2019 as part of our annual Writing Weekend 17 - 18 August.
Rather than writing a whole memoir, which is a daunting prospect for most people, this interactive course teaches how to write well about single events that happen on a journey throughout life. These might be life-changing, an episode that needs recording or memories that given insight into who you are and your relationship with the places and people around you.
Writing about events helps you to make sense of them and find meaning and reasons. Interpretations of things that happen in in your own life give future generations insights into their own.
Tutor: Jill Malcolm
You are invited to attend our opening address at 9am on Saturday 17 August. Carole Beu from the Womens Bookshop will fire up the day with an early morning talk on her raves and faves. Have a cuppa, listen to Carol and meet others.
