Associate Professor Ian Barber, of the University of Otago Archaeology Programme, will critique popular historical myths, and report on new research about the Chatham Islands/Rēkohu Moriori people.
This lecture remembers the foundational contribution of Otago University Museum ethnologist, H D Skinner to Moriori studies on the 100 year anniversary of Skinner’s first Chatham Islands/Rēkohu visit in 1919.
