LIVE @ ARATOI presents:
Lush violin textures and haunting vocals of Anita Clark, Motte
Campbell James Kneale opens the concert with a transcendent acoustic set.
MOTTE - Weaving together a richly textured world with a violin, delay pedal, a small collection of other tech, and voice, Motte rides the thin line between beauty and devastation, creating a world solely her own. Motte has released two albums since 2015, 'Songs For Movies' and 'Strange Dreams', with a third due to be released early 2020. In between touring NZ and Aus, Anita has also composed music for the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s 2019 Choreographic Series, a Wellington short-film ‘Bloom’, a Sydney based short ‘Shadows’ which recently played at Cannes Film fest, and a soundtrack for Montreal based experimental film maker Alexandre Larose. Motte is based in Wellington.
CAMPBELL JAMES KNEALE - Barely over the jet-lag and airport food of his recent Scandinavian tour, Campbell has been forging his own transcendent sound for nigh on a quarter of a century. He has released albums as Our Love Will Destroy The World, and previous projects include Black Boned Angel, Birchville Cat Motel, Ming and Brilliant Swords. The renowned sound artist, prolific recording artist, and relentless collaborator is currently performing entirely acoustically to produce concentrated and gorgeous drones and vibrations that straddle the macro/micro divide. Campbell James Kneale is based in Featherston.
