The MeToo movement has been instrumental worldwide in exposing just how insidious sexual harassment and assault is in our society, but the challenge now is to move beyond it and begin creating a culture of consent for all.

No matter what your gender or sexual orientation, or whether you’ve been a victim, perpetrator, or bystander, we all need to work together to change things.

This course features practical workshops designed to give people the opportunity to develop the skills to identify how gender and other biases operate in our society, along with the tools to move beyond them.

Created and convened by Dr. Sharon McIver and Dr. Karyn Stewart, experts will be brought in to cover a range of topics including: the law, consent, police complaints, women’s self-defence (with Grand Master Chan), and will include a talk by Green MP and Parliamentary Under Secretary for Sexual and Domestic Violence issues, Jan Logie.

Moving Beyond MeToo will provide a safe space for everyone to explore the skills needed to dismantle rape culture and help ensure that the next generations inherit a society that is both safe and treats them equally, regardless of gender, race or class.

We hope you will join us in meeting the challenge.
