The New Zealand Mountain Film Festival National Tour is coming to Wellington with a double feature! We'll be showing both the best of the festival and the award-winning NZ made films.

The festival started in 2002 and is internationally recognised as one of the world’s premier mountain film festival events. It's NZ’s original mountain film festival with an international adventure film maker’s competition, as well as a highly regarded NZ made a division.

The Wellington Tramping and Mountaineering Club and the Victoria University of Wellington Tramping Club have joined forces to bring the films to Wellington.

5 August - *Kiwi Made*: Award winning films either made in NZ or films made by New Zealanders include discovering the Dasler Pinnacles in the Hopkins Valley, exploring caves and couloirs in the North Routeburn Valley, an 11-day loop of the second largest national park in NZ by bike and boat, portrait of freediver Kathryn Nevatt the former World Champion and current New Zealand record holder in all freediving disciplines, crossing the Southern Alps over the Main Divide from East to West starting at the Liebigs, a journey into Morocco's Atlas Mountains and a self-supported sea kayak expedition in Antarctica.

12 August - *Best of the Festival* films include biking through the Himalaya, a first ascent of a new climb on Cerro Kishtwar in the Kashmir mountains, French extreme skiing in the heart of the Alps, and the epic tale of Wanaka local Mark Sedon, Leo Houlding (UK) and Jean Burgun's (France) 2000km journey to reach the summit of the most remote mountain on Earth - The Spectre in Antarctica.
