Nelson’s 45-member choir Mosaic brings a mini-WOMAD of world music to NCMA on Thursday 29 August. Using only voice and drum as instruments, Nelson’s iconic a capella group will present a selection from their repertoire of more than 200 songs in more than a dozen languages.
Mosaic has been delighting audiences for 21 years with their high energy professional sound and vibrancy. They have performed at a variety of public events and were twice enthusiastically received at the Nelson Arts Festival. Their fourth CD collection was released in May this year.
True to its name, Mosaic will present a multi-layered, multi-coloured musical experience fashioned from a wide variety of materials of different hues, tones, textures and patterns.
The audience at NCMA’s lunchtime concert can expect songs from Europe, Africa and the Pacific, in moods that range from gentle and introspective to rousing, expansive and pulsing with dramatic energy.
Proudly supported by Nelson Pine Industries.
