Join DOC rangers and nature experts from iNaturalist NZ – Mātaki Taiao to find all sorts of cool things living Christchurch Botanic Gardens. Plants, animals, fungi... we're keen on it all. Bring your phone with the free iNaturalist app installed and lets get nosey!
This event is a special collaboration between DOC and iNaturalist NZ – Mātaki Taiao to finish off Conservation Week with a flourish. We are getting together to celebrate the last day of the iNaturalist Neighbourhood Nature Nosey event- and hopefully to solidify Canterbury at the top of the leaderboard for engagement! The guided adventure will involve meeting at the DOC visitor centre at the Christchurch Arts Centre, before a 90-minute walk through the Botanic Gardens to see what we can find. Join us for a fun-filled morning of unleashing your inner nature nerd and learning to protect our precious flora and fauna.
We will endeavour to return to the DOC Visitor centre by midday, however please allow extra time for if we get carried away identifying!
Cancelled in the event of severe weather – It is important you register so we can email you by 9:30am on the day of the event if cancelled.
