Join the New Zealand Army Band for an evening of music.

This variety concert will draw from a range of musical styles including Classical, Big Band, Brass Band, Show Music and Rock showcasing the diverse talent within the ensemble. The programme will include 'Candide Overture', 'Rhapsody in Brass', a Trombone feature 'Radio City', and vocals 'Take the A-Train', 'The Prayer', 'My Way' and 'Uptown Funk'. There will also be a couple seasonal favourites and some Big Band charts that the band will have just performed with trumpet icon Allen Vizzutti.

Hamilton City Brass Musical Director Glenn Richards said “It is great to have the Army Band in town. They are world class performers as was proven at the 2019 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo where the New Zealand Army Band once again won the prestigious Pooley Sword for the best act at that International Show”.

The band is thrilled to have two of Hamilton's exceptionally talented brass musicians join them for a special performance - Mason Elliot (flugel horn) and Emma Redpath (baritone). The New Zealand Army Bands Director of Music Major Graham Hickman says “Showcasing local talent is something we like to do when we perform an Evening Concert in a community that has a thriving Brass Band scene like Hamilton and it is a thrill for both the band and Mason & Emma to be able to collaborate in this way".

Arguably the most entertaining band Aotearoa has to offer—don't miss this opportunity to hear this outstanding band in concert!
