Purchased in 1998 as part of the Dunedin Public Art Gallery's Commemorative Collection, Nicola Jackson's Venus Fly Traps (1990) speaks directly to the artists ongoing interest in human anatomy, the self-portrait and the visual possibilities presented through particular body parts.
Comprised of papier-mâché vases, etchings, lino cuts and artificial flowers, this installation explores the idea of fatal attraction through a series of 'receptacles' and 'lures'.
